Sapodilla - BKD110

This variety originates from Singapore. It has attractive red brown flesh when ripe with a mild flavour, the flesh is slightly gritty like a pear. Fruits are oval and weigh 50-100 g. Sapodillas are highly prized in Asia with their sweet brown sugar cinnamon flavoured fruit that look like a kiwi fruit.
Dwarf Loquat - Bessell Brown

Grafted onto Quince C rootstock, creating a small and compact tree. Bessell Brown are large fruited with thick, orange skin resistant to bruising and firm golden coloured flesh, having a pleasant mild flavour. Now it can be grown in small yards with this Dwarf variety. The tree is hardy and well suited to a range of climates.

Flavour is highly aromatic and has been rated as superior by Chefs. Fruit is highly ornamental, with its shiny black skin and as a cut fruit, as it has a dark lime green pulp. Displays well as a garnish, with the juice vesicles popping out on cutting and the fruit splitting open wide. Its wide shape facilitates scooping out the pulp with a teaspoon. Rind colour is black/purple at optimum maturity and pulp colour is a dark yellow/green. Mean fruit size is 50mm x 25mm. It is a mid to late season variety but bears fruit all year round.
