The flavour of the arils of this variety is something else. Gulosha azerbaijani produces medium to large sized, slightly elongated fruit with a pinkish hue, but the internal arils surrounding the seed are deep red, large and very juicy.

Pomegranate - Azerbaijani

2nd year fruited with up to 40 extra-large fruits that were just starting to split when picked. Flavour was excellent and was used in cooking for bottled Pomegranate Jelly. Bush doubled in size in the second year to around 180cm tall. Awesome Plant.

Have had this in the ground for about 6 weeks - is doing well. Dug a big hole, removed existing soil and replaced with garden compost. Seems pretty happy for now.

*UPDATE* 2nd crop 2nd year. Fed lightly, watered once a week or less in very dry weather. Lightly pruned in winter to 1.5 mtr. About 25 large, glowing, ruby red fruit as big as a 6yr old's head. Tasted of heaven; made pomegranate vinegar.

Pomegranate - Azerbaijani

Hot dry coastal Adelaide - I put it in poor, well draining soil in a walled garden bed that I grow cacti in... fed a little dynamic lifter. Grew to 1.5 metres first season - around 15 large fruits. Loved 49c days, pruned in winter.
