Pawpaw - Bisexual and Female (Seedling) 7/10Pat1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4628 days 3hrs Comments: - These trees have been grown from seeds taken of fruits from the market. I used long bisexual fruits. I renew these plants every few years. They are quick growing and productive but the winter wind in Perth make them bold in winter. They come back in Spring though and the fruits are nice in Spring and Summer. I now keep both bisexual and female plants. The female is gigantic with about 20 side branches! I thought they were meant to be single stemmed. Avocado - Fuerte (B) (Grafted) 8/10 Amanda's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2567 days 17hrs Comments: - It's a Type B and easy to grow. It flowers a bit too early in our cooler climate so fruit set is not great and a few are cocktail avocados. I planted it for cross pollinating our Type A's - but it tends to flower a bit earlier than all of them. Fruiting Months October and November Planted: 2015 Height 5 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 First Fruited: 3 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Pruned By: 30% in Pollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: Balanced Organic Acid lovers, little and often, alternating with slow release organic chook manure pellets. Avocado - Reed (A) (Grafted) 10/10 Amanda's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2567 days 16hrs Comments: - I love this tree - the fruit is amazing and even better if you let them hang on the tree for an extra month or two. Buttery, nutty, creamy and huge. A lovely handsome tree - very vigorous and fruits prolifically. Highly recommend and tolerates cool weather no problems here. Planted: 2014 Height 5 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 First Fruited: 2 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Medium Sun Pruned By: 30% in Pollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: Balanced Acid lovers alternating with slow release organic chook maure pellets, Little and often Organic Status:Partially Organic Question: I am wondering if Reed is self fertile perhaps? Black Sapote 10/10 Debra's Edible FruitsUpdate: 6126 days 11hrs Comments: - I worried about my sapote at first and molly coddled it for a while but it is doing quiet well so far, I have it protected with shade cloth in the chook yard, so the chooks are keeping weeds and bugs at bay, the only worry I have is the heat and the wind, (it can get very hot and windy here), it is watered by reticulation daily and mulched well.
