Guava - Indian (Cutting) 10/10Amanda19's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5727 days 3hrs Comments: - This guava has been no trouble - bears prolifically. I'm not keen on it fresh (but the mice are) but is great stewed. I haven't pruned it yet. It also suffers from burnt leaf margins - either due to elements or salinity. Fruiting Months January, February, March, April, May, October, November, December Planted: 2007 Height 2 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 First Fruited: 2 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Spring Pollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: Manure, clay, straw, blood n bone 10% potash. Guava - Indian Cream (Cutting) 4/10 Amanda's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2543 days 2hrs Comments: - Removed. I found the fruit a bit insipid down here - maybe it's too cool for good flavour development. It's definitely not as nice as it tasted 700kms north when I grew it. Easy to grow however and not bothered by our bore water or anything else really. Height 2 metres Growing: In the Ground Sun/Shade: Full Sun Pollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: Slow release organic chook manure pellets, sometimes balanced acid lovers. Guava - pink fleshed (Cutting) 9/10Pat1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4603 days 0hrs Comments: - I presume the tree is a cutting as when I bought it there was a huge batch and all the trees look the same and there is no grating evident. These trees fruit like mad in Perth. I make so much juice from them it's crazy! I like it when they are soft ripe. Rats love them too but baits work well. I trim the tree heavily to keep the fruits at picking level. Fruiting Months April, May, June, July, August Planted: 2005 Height 2 metres Growing: In the Ground Fruit Harvest: 600 Fruit Per Year First Fruited: 18 Months from Purchase in Pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Spring SpringPollination: Self Pollination When I Fertilise: When Fruiting, Winter, Spring Pest Control: normal fruitfly schedule Organic Status:Partially Organic Was this review helpful? Guava - Rainforest guava Amanda's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2544 days 4hrs Comments: - Psidium longipetiolum. This is one tough plant. It's not at all bothered by our winters and has been transplanted 3 times with no problems at all. It seems fine with our bore water also. Planted: 2019 Height 1 metres Growing: In the Ground Sun/Shade: Medium Sun Water Given in: Spring SpringPollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: Balanced Acid lovers alternating with organic slow release chook manure pellets. strawberry guava 8/10Itdepends1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5645 days 2hrs Comments: - Didn't like the flavour or the large seeds with little flesh- removed the tree
Planted in 2008 and has grown rapidly with first fruit in Autumn/winter of 2009. Had me fooled for a while as the fruit were going yellow and dropping off. I've since discovered that I have the yellow variety of strawberry guava (not red) and the yellow fruit are ripe. (Definitely a strawberry guava due to large seed size) Planted: 2008 Height 0.5 metres Fruit Harvest: 0.5 kilograms per Year First Fruited: 6 Months from Purchase in Pot Sun/Shade: Low Sun Water Given in: Autumn and Spring Pollination: Self Pollination Pest Control:

Guava - Strawberry (Cutting) 5/10 Pat1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4602 days 24hrs Comments: - Fruits readily but they are quite small. Flavour is good in colder seasons but rather bland in hot weather. Trees are easy to grow and carefree. I still prefer the normal guavas. Guava - Strawberry (Seedling) 7/10 Amanda's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2545 days 4hrs Comments: - Some selections seem to be way too fruitful and set so much fruit that they will literally kill themselves. So fiddly to thin them. The Yellow variety seems to be mroe prone to this? I prefer the red one in our cooler climate, but prefered the yellow in our hotter climate up north.
