I love this fruit! It can be eaten straight from the tree, and also used for cooking. I got this plant from my dad, it's growing so good, summer and spring really allowed it to burst with new growth. I'm hoping to get my first crop in as early as 2 years. Can't wait!

Not doing brilliantly yet, but was dug out by neighbour and given to me, and a fair bit of root trauma. See how it goes.

UPDATE : Has pushed some new buds. Need to mulch it up and make it a little more comfy

Got this in a sad state from the bargain bin at my local nursery for about $4. Promplty re-potted it and gave it a sunny, wind free position and it recovered nicley. It will be staying in a pot.

No fruit yet. Photo is after repotting, it looks much better now.

Guava - Mexican Cream 8/10

Edward3's Edible Fruits
Update: 2346 days 19hrs

Comments: - Very good soft sweet taste, sweeter than Hawaiian pink. Good crop. However, too much trouble with fruit fly, bush rats and fruit bats, so have removed tree to make room for others.

Fruiting Months March and April

Planted: 2014

Height 1 metres

Growing: In the Ground

Qty: 1

Fruit Harvest: 10 Fruit Per Year

First Fruited: 1 Years from purchase in pot

Sun/Shade: Full Sun

Water Given in: Autumn

Summer

Pollination: Self Pollination

Pest Control: Tried using vegemite solution in soft drink bottle to trap fruit flies but not completely effective. One spray with lebaycid worked very well but this chemical no longer used. Fine netting works well but does not stop bush rats.

How well is your doing in Pot? My died last yr and i got new one today from a friend.
Edward3 says... [4014 days 10hrs ago]
Initially I had it in a pot and the top half died. So I put it in the ground and it recovered, and that's when I got 1 fruit. It seems to be very happy now and is growing well.
