Black Sapote Minky1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5585 days 20hrs Comments: - Just ordered from Daleys should get it next week. Received and planted and is growing exceptionally well. A lot of new growth, all I do is make sure it gets lots and lots of water. Unfortunately my son has decided to practice his pruning skills on my black sapote whilst I was hanging out the clothes. What was about 1.5m tall with a massive amount of new growth is now only under 0.5m with a couple of leaves. I don't know if this little guy is going to make it. Let's just say I was very, very upset with my son for this. September 2010 - new growth starting to come from stick that was left - this guy is a fighter. Has grown sigificantly over summer and is now growing more laterally than in height - lots of branches. Planted: 2009 Height 58 Centimetres Growing: In the Ground Pollination: Self Pollination Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report 4 of 9 people found this review useful |

Black Sapote (Seedling) 8/10 Edward3's Edible FruitsUpdate: 3357 days 6hrs Comments: - Has flowered profusely for several years, but not much fruit set. Hence I planted a second variety of black sapote more recently and this seems to have helped with fruit set. In 2014 the tree had many flowers but the second variety had no flowers (still small tree), and again there was no fruit set, So it does seem that cross pollination is essential for the seedling tree. Fruiting Months December Planted: 2007 Qty: 1 Fruit Harvest: 5 Fruit Per Year First Fruited: 2013 Years from purchase in pot Pollination: Cross Pollination Cross Pollinator Variety: superb Was this review helpful?
