Guava - Indian

MakJeng1's Edible Fruits
Update: 6116 days 14hrs

Comments: -

Heavily pruned last year so that fruit remains within reach. Pant was very scrappy for the first 2 years but with a lot of compost it has come good. Intermittant grey water.

Despite full nylon netting something keeps getting under the net and partially eats the green fruit. Doesn't taste too good so try the next one!
Next step is to wire net perimiter with bird net over the top. Otherwise there will be nothing left for me to cook into Guava Jelly.

It looks great! Could you pls post a photo of the fruit? Does it look like the picture on Daleys? Their description of the fruit looks nothing like the fruits in the picture.

Guava - China Pear

This variety is supposed to have outstanding flavour.

Planted: 2012

Growing: In a Pot

Pest Control:

Guava is a fruit fly magnet - exclusion netting is the best, and it keeps the birds out too.

Have just planted 2 of these. Now they have been in 6months. they are looking healthy and have put on new growth tho they have not grown in height. Now they have been in 10 months I have pulled one out as it was no longer doing well and replaced it with a hawaiin guava which had looked streesed  in a pot.

Will use Ecco oil and Healthy Earth products if they are needed but so far they have not needed any thing in the pest line.
