Known as the J.H.Hale Million Dollar Peach requires Blackburn Elberta as a pollinator so sharing position #18 in the orchard (planted in same hole with volcanic loam and quart).

Barerooted plants were planted in spring but took time to 'wake up'

Partner really liked the look of this one, and desperate to keep him interested in the garden, I bought it for him straight away! The Double Jewel is yellow-fleshed and ripens first, followed by the white-fleshed Tasty Zee.

Finally made room for a peach tree (mind you I had to relocate the apricot tree I'd bought a month before to fit it in). Loring is a dual purpose canning/fresh eating peach which suits me well. I only allowed it to bear two fruit in it's first fruiting year- didn't want to stress the tree too much. They taste very nice though

Nov 2010: flowered far too late - no pollination in the dry heat and wind :(

My pixzee has got lots fruits too but as the branches are so so close, I have to thin so many of the fruits..plus with earwig attack, I hope I can eat at least one!
