Comments: - White Sapote - RainbowCasimiroa edulis There's not a lot of information about the Rainbow variety but the general consensus seems to be that it produces an excellent tasting fruit of good size. Fruiting now so will get to try the fruit first hand shortly. Easy to grow here in Melbourne.

This is a TRIPLE group planting with Vernon and Sue Belle alongside - the Reinecke looks like it may get too leggy as another growers is 15ft tall and not fruited yet

Hi ish - dont know where you are as seen you on a Sapodilla post recently but a guy in melbourne was selling these grafted a couple years ago - he has just about all including Rainbow but hes moving and may not be grafting in future but Bullen Art and Garden may have some now but not cheap and they dont post

Hi Mark, thanks for that... Yes, I was trying to hunt down the fabled Krasuey Sapodilla ;) I am in Brissie. Any chance you might have details for the Melbourne guy? Love to catch him before he moves - Rainbow and Suebelle seem rare as hens teeth. Not knocking my Lemon Gold, but still.... ;) Ish

What fertiliser do you use, if any? Where at the tree do you put the fertiliser?

I use slow release suitable for citrus & eco seaweed ish - the guy who grafts & sells white sapotes in Melb doesnt post plants and is moving home & may not be doing anymore for a while - i could be when my seedlings are grown enough

Lovely fruits with avocado /sweet custard creamy flavour without fiberous texture. Very easy to look after. Prone to magnesium deficiency (yellow leaves in spring) but is quite easy to manage with epsom salt. Highly recommended. Citrus fertilizer and potash should be given once a year in Spring.

This year, not many fruits and very small and dropped very young. I think too much rain caused this condition.

Nice looking Ortega fruit, they seem much bigger than I imagined. I boughtone of these from a fruit stall the other day as a pollinator for Vista and Chris varieties
