Thanks mate for the offer, but it is not urgent and I will try to source some other varieties white sapote scions to graft onto my seedling tree project sometime in the near future. This must be the best fruit for taste and climate range and low fruit fly problem for some unknown reason.

Good near a public area because its skin stays green when ripe, and so does not attract as much attention from people who don't know the fruit.

Seems to be a wooly-leaf sapote. The underside of the leaves are furry, unlike my Kampong.

21 April 2019, currently loaded with fl ok were, Hopefully some of the flowers will set. Growth is healthy and steady.

05-10-19 Holding more than fruits this season. Snipped some of them to improve size. Can't wait the inevitable taste test hopefully together with the Blumenthal white sapote.

did you get to taste the fruit yet mate? do you have another variety managed to get fruit with just one? also is managing the winter OK? cheers

mines about 6mt and still not fruited - put more potassium on it a few days ago.

21 April 2019, starting to flower now after 1-1/2 years from purchase. Not expecting the flowers to set because of its young age. Nice growth.

Notice flowers on mine a month ago and appears to have set fruit as Suebelle & Vernon nearby also flowering plus setting fruit - good crop next year maybe?

A small grafted tree originally from the famous specimen in Louis Glowinski's Melbourne garden. Struggled in the dry conditions for a few years in Victoria, now growing in a more suitable climate.

Update March 2010

Disaster - this tree was run over by the ride-on mower. No hope of salvaging it as it was chopped below the graft. Have managed to source another from Perry's in SA. Lucky for me, a difficult plant to find.

July 2010

The long awaited replacement tree has finally arrived from Perry's, and has taken prime position in full sun, just outside the gates of the swimming pool. Have married it off to a 'Lemon Gold" so here's hoping for a fruitful union.

Too much sappy top growth, pruned to allow better framework of branches

This tree is now large and shades part of the front area of the pool. Fruits in early summer however it is very attractive to flying foxes and I need some strategies to stem the losses. I hear laser lights sold at Christmas are an effective repellant. The fruit are as large as a navel orange with a rich complex flavour

Comments: - Another find at a local fruit stall, this plant was so pot bound it was growing through the plastic into the ground below. Seemed to have transplanted ok, have bought it as a pollinator for "Vista".

Is it iron deficient? Phil - your plants are beautiful! The colour of them says it all..

Grew so fast the wind snapped off the sappy new growth - it was a little top heavy anyway

Now a sturdy productive tree, the skin thicker and less likely to split than other cultivars, more shell-like. I find the flavour exceptional, very rich although the fruit are never quite large enough!
