White Sapote - Dade TyalgumPhil's Edible FruitsUpdate: 3298 days 22hrs Comments: - Discovered by chance at a run-down nursery at Surfers' Paradise, an established tree which looked like it had been there for some time and overlooked. Already in flower, have started hand pollinating with pollen from the Ortego planted nearby. Having only just gone into the ground, flowers may abort before the fruit develops. White sapote - Pike TyalgumPhil's Edible FruitsUpdate: 3298 days 22hrs Comments: - Planted in dappled shade, the tree appears healthy so far and flowering, especially on older wood. Sourced from at nursery at Tweed Heads, have planted it in close proximity to "Ortego" which is in full bloom. Ants seem to like the flowers, maybe they will be useful pollinators. White Sapote - Pike (Grafted) Aimz781's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5026 days 21hrs Comments: - Fruit sounds nice but did not realise this needs a x pollinator. Will keep my eye out for a self pollinating I think. We don't really have space for two. Lesson:do your homework (also buy from daleys as they always give you this type of info before you purchase) you live and you learn hey? White Sapote - Seedling (Seedling) 6/10 CoolClimate1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5276 days 6hrs Comments: - I don't know what variety this is as I bought it from Diggers and they didn't say. I've read that it will survive down to -5 when mature, and the fruit sounds amazing, so I thought I'd give it a go. Doing well in the ground so far, planted in early spring and protected with an empty water tube, so we'll see how it copes with winter. Planted: 2011 Height 0.5 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 Sun/Shade: Medium Sun Water Given in: Winter Pollination: No Fertiliser or Organics Used: Sheep manure, lucerne hay When I Fertilise: Spring Was this review helpful? Hopefully it will be tough enough to thrive up there. Planted: 2011 Height 0.5 metres Growing: In the Ground Sun/Shade: Full Shade Water Given in: Summer Was this review helpful?
