Carambola Starfruit - Daleys Sweet Gold 6/10 Xhristofer's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5443 days 8hrs Comments: - This has been a difficult tree. I've had to transplant it three times. First it was too shaded, then the soil wasn't right and too shallow, but now the soil is deep, free draining and obviously suited to the tree. Its now about 1.8M tall and looking much better than it was. Its only flowered once in the 3 or so years I've had it. Carambola Starfruit - Kary (Grafted) 10/10 Tresna's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5737 days 24hrs Comments: - This has been a prolific fruiting season. This is the second year this tree has fruited and I only have the one tree. The fruit have been fantastic, large, firm and great tasting. The fruit has ripened on the tree, with no need to pick and keep in doors as they have not been attacked by pests ie fruit fly. I think part of the success has been the relocation of the chook yard that encorporated a number of my fruit trees including the carambola and the higher than normal rainfall we have had on the coast. Tresna Fruiting Months February, March, April Planted: 2006 Height 3.5 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 First Fruited: 2009 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Winter Pollination: No When I Fertilise: Yearly Organic Status:Organic Was this review helpful? Carambola Starfruit - Kary 10/10 PhilippafromDerbyWA1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5373 days 4hrs Comments: - This tree was here when we bought the place and is one of my favorites. The kid underneath is one of my best too. He is the youngest of a blended family of 10, which halve of still live at home. Now you can probably understand why I love to be in my garden. Among other things it is my serenity my peace. Star fruit abound on this tree nearly all year round there is something happening from its pretty little flowers to its crunchy tart juicy fruit. One of my older boys loves them and eats them whole off the tree. This one is planted in mostly shade between towering bamboo and a large date palm. It is very healthy, prolific fruiter and very pretty. In need of a good prune no dought.
