Cenarrhenes nitida 'Native Plum' Linton's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2065 days 14hrs Comments: - Cenarrhenes nitida 'Port Arthur Plum' A native of Tasmania, it's a large bush or small tree that produces a fleshy plum-like fruit. Unsure of how long they take to reach fruiting age. The plant is intolerant of phosphate so I have avoided giving it any fertiliser. Seems to be growing well so far in a semi-shaded position.

Chinese Bird Plum (Cutting) Linton's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2161 days 14hrs Comments: - Although sometimes reported as deciduous, this plant has remained evergreen throughout Winter with continuous new flushes of growth . The small purple-black fruits are commonly eaten in China and some say that the leaves also have a plum scent. Easy to grow in Melbourne with little care required. Will be great if it can fruit here as it is another highly underutilised fruit. Plum (unknown) (Cutting) Kathy2's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5251 days 10hrs Comments: - Spring 2011: Cuttings given to me by a friend of a friend (thakns heaps Brett!!) who inherited the parent tree with his farm... none of us know what sort they are but they are yummers! The first of the cuttings just appear to be coming to life. Summer 2011: Out of 5 cuttings only 2 grew leaves (back in spring). One was dead as a dodo but the other 2 were still green - just sleepy?? So I scraped off some bark, dunked them in rooting hormone and repotted them. One is already starting to how signs of success!
