Garcinia warrenii - Sour Plum (Seedling) 10/10

BJ's Edible Fruits
Update: 5256 days 10hrs

Comments: - Quick growing Garcinia native to northern Australia. It it easily the fastest garcinia in my yard and should be considered as a vigrous and hardy rootstock for grafting other Garcinia on to. The fruit themselves are not too bad and good for jams etc.

This plum is a 3 way grafted.....it contains grafts from mariposa, narrabeen and I think the last one is satsuma.  I don't think I have enough chill hours here for it to fruit though, so will be grafting some low chill varieties onto this tree in the future, to replace the others.

Is troubled by leaf eating insects. Growing tall but doesn't look so healthy.

Davidson Plum NSW (Seedling)

VF1's Edible Fruits
Update: 5000 days 12hrs

Would like to make a sour plum conserve from native fruit, as the bought European one is delicious!

Plant bought as tubestock, potted up immediately - a little slower growing than QLD variety. Has darker leaves, and new growth a fantastic pink colour.

Beatiful rough-edged foliage, a native rainforest tree with fruiting potential. Not many fruiting trees will suit shady spots but this is a natural understory plant. Needs a bit of water. Some in pots and two in the ground.
