Mandarin - Miho Wase (Satsuma)

Very early fruiting and easy peeling. High sugar levels in fruit. Very popular export variety. One of the main satsuma varieties of Japan. Slow growing dwarf tree. Fruit is better flavoured than the common Silverhill variety although a little smaller.

Sudachi

As well known as the Yuzu in Japan where this sour citrus originates it is considered an indispensable companion to eating matsutake mushroom. The freshly squeezed juice is used as an alternative to vinegar. Fruits form in tight clusters and are harvested when still green in Autumn although they do turn yellow-orange when fully ripe. Commonly used as a garnish the aroma is zestier than lemons or limes.

Kola Nut

The kola nut is a caffine-containing nut from an evergreen tree. The tree have yellow flowers with purple spots and star-shaped fruit. Inside the fruit about a dozen round or square seeds develop in a white seed pod. The nut's aroma is sweet and rose-like. The first taste is bitter, but it sweetens on chewing. The nut can be boiled to extract the cola. This tree reaches 25 meters in height and is grown from seed.
