Mango - Alfonso (Grafted) 7/10

Edward3's Edible Fruits
Update: 1114 days 7hrs

Good looking wide-spreading tree. Supposed to be one of the favourite mango varieties in India. Have had a few fruit in 2017. Not as tasty as my other mango varieties, but will check taste in next few seasons before giving a verdict. Susceptible to disease so got very few fruits.

Any luck with fruit set?
Edward3 says... [3114 days 15hrs ago]
Yes, had some fruit set last year but only 3 mangoes. The Sydney weather this Spring has been good so expect to get more fruit staying on the tree.

Growing it from seed which is polyembryonic so expect it to come true. Got 2 mangoes in 2017 - thin skin, beautiful colour, excellent taste.

Has suffered leaf burn in heat wave conditions in Sydney over 40 degrees.

Mango - seedling - who knows (Seedling) 9/10

Nathan1's Edible Fruits
Update: 4264 days 15hrs

UPDATE 2014: Growing well know, after splitting the 2 trunks by accident with excavator. I staked both trnks, and bound them, has bounced back, wound seems to have healed, and it growing really well

UPDATE 2012: This has a settled in to a dozen good sized mangoes on-board, and has really flourished this year.. and has forgiven me for accidentally "clefting it in twain" from while throwing a sheet a fencing iron behind me whilst working

Just popped out of compost heap when living in Blue Mountains, so I dragged it back here.

No fruit yet, but others in the area go well. I will graft it with a named variety very shortly. It's growing quite well in full sun, on the high/dry side of my garden. I've recently added a swale for it and the other trees in same vicinity.

Mango - Thai seedling 9/10

Edward3's Edible Fruits
Update: 318 days 7hrs

Comments: - Grew this tree from seed from a Thai mango bought in Cabramatta. The stem has a copper colour - quite different from our other mango trees. It produced one mango in 2022 which was very tasty. So far this variety seems disease resistant. In 2024 got a large crop of mangoes, all disease free. No fruit in 2025.

Mine in Sydney had flowers and new leaves completely damaged by powdery mildew in October. Did you have any trouble like this?

Just realised that you are not talking about a banana mango tree, but a banana plant, so my comment is not relevant to your plant
