I was really impressed with the postage of this plant from Daleys . Not a mark on it . It is powering along nicely .

I haven't tried the nuts yet, but are supposed to taste like peanuts when raw, and chestnuts when fried or roasted. Sounds like a good option to try in sub-tropics where not so suitable to grow traditional type nuts. Should start bearing when a few years old.

The tree itself is attractive too, with a bulbous base (already noticeable as a young plant) similar to Qld. Bottle tree. Likes moist soil as in natural environment lives on river-banks.
