Black Sapote - Chocolate (Grafted) 6/10 Malanda231's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2647 days 18hrs Comments: - Espaliered. Takes a few years of growth before trunk is thick enough for tree to hold fruit. Only one fruit last summer at 4y mark. I see both male and female flowers, female come out later (early november when I spotted this). Rainforest tree, roots do spread in yard in cool/wet/mulched spots so I would be careful to not plant too close to a structure as not sure if roots would expand and damage. Must trim regularly in summer to keep it small. Was told grafted versions grew shorter and less aggressively than seedlings. Hope I get more fruit this year, a pretty waxy leaved plant. Height 3 metres Growing: In the Ground First Fruited: 4 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Autumn and Winter Summer, Autumn, WinterPollination: Self Pollination Organic Status:Certified Was this review helpful?
