Comments: - because the concept of growing my own spices is so romantic and exciting and I love to try new things and enjoy challenges! Nutmeg is the extra special ingredient in the bechamel sauce in my lasagne, the fresher the better, so why not try and grow it?

Yes we buy them from the Indonesian grocery store here in Syd which my wife crushes & uses in her Indonesian cooking, i'm negotiating it if I should plant one at parents home.

1/12/10 - Just finished flowering (smelly for 2wks).

Took 24 scionwoods 121210. A mix of fat, slim buds on black/green stems.  Grafted the next day into 1yr old rootstocks MT. 

241210 -All 24 grafts look good.  The slim buds are now swelling.

I love the crunchy texture in stir-frys. Easy to grow in water container.

(Note : now winter 2012, and roots have been harvested. Extremely prolific and worth growing again. Have put aside a handful to re-plant for next year.)

I love coconuts- as a beautiful shaped palm and for the fruit. This one is still pretty tall for a dwarf, but I'm willing to give it a try. I am not sure if I have the right climate for it to fruit in Brisbane.
