Question: I have just planted my six K7 coffee trees in the last 10 days. It has been hot and dry  and windy at Stokers Siding but I've been watering and the trees are reasonably protected from wind. The tops of some of the leaves are an orangy-brown while the underside is still green. Any ideas? Maybe just a bit of transplant shock?

I've only had mine (x2) for a few weeks so limited experience but so far I've had it in ~6hours filtered light, ~2hours direct sunlight only and it seems to be doing ok. We've had a heat wave in Sydney and it's fine so far. Yours might be in too much sun.
Lynden says... [3117 days 15hrs ago]
Cheers for that Jane. Yes they are getting a bit more sun than yours but not full sun and I'll keep my fingers crossed as only a few leaves are affected. I understand as they increase in size they become more sun tolerant.

UPDATE 2014: Fruiting like crazy, AND when about to relocate it, found about a dozen self-seeded seedlings underneath! :) So have potted those up, and see how they go :) And also see how the transplant goes - it's not into ideal location, but I needed to move it foraquaponics tank

UPDATE 2012: Lots of flowers this year, berries seem to be developing nicely

Lovely large glossy leaves. Bright green new growth ages to a dark green. Seems to be slow growing.

Summer 2011: FIRST FLOWERS! So excited. They are hard to see because they are down at the base of the leaves along the branches but they are there! Fingers crossed for some fruit!!! I had always been told that they were highly fragrant. I haven't noticed any particular smell but with all the rain it could easily have been washed away.
