Guava Yellow Cherry

This is the mildest and probably the sweetest guava of all. Fruits are 3cm in diameter yellow skinned with a sweet, aromatic, creamy flesh and numerous small seeds. Begins bearing when less than 1 metres high. Prolific bearer.

Pear-shaped fruit, with yellow skin, thick, pale-yellowish flesh surrounding the white central pulp, excellent strawberry-like flavor. It contains numerous small, hard seeds and is quite firm even when fully ripe.

A seedling of the Hawaiian Supreme commercial variety. Fruit is large, yellow skinned and pink fleshed fruit. Very hardy prolific cropper. Can be eaten fresh or juiced. Responds well to pruning to keep compact. The foliage is delicate on young trees, and our potted plants are known for their older leaves to turn yellow and drop during transport to conserve energy. This is not a problem long term. With care and acclimatisation they will bounce back

Ugni ( Tazziberry )

This popular little ornamental plant should be planted anywhere the strawberry aroma from the fruit can be appreciated. It is ideally grown as a low growing hedge or a container specimen. The small glossy dark-green leaves are tinged with a beautiful red growth when young. The plant becomes smothered with fluffy white flowers in summer and bears pea sized burgundy fruit, that lighten as they ripen, in the autumn. It is best eaten on its own to really appreciate the unique aromatic flavour.

Para Guava

The acidic fruits of the para guava are delicious when made into drinks and desserts although they are too sour to be eaten out of hand for most of us. They are a medium sized fruit with translucent white-yellow flesh. Prefers a warm sub tropical location with high rainfall.
