Comments: - rainforest plant for my garden. also known as river cherry (syzygium tierneyanum) it is a fast growing evergreen bushy tree. has pinkish-red or white fruit which are edible though to sour to eat raw. The flowers attract buttterflies and honeyeaters. prefers mosit soil. can be pruned and used as a screen or wind break. forst hardy once established.

This is the native pink satinash that is a small to medium tree . It is not the Malay    apple . The fruits are diffrent to the malay apple and are good to eat or make jam . Masses of flower buds on the branches Nov 2017 (cauliferous) .

It has had myrtle rust

Comments: - Very ornamental small growing Syzygium. I keep this one in a self watering pot as it likes the moisture and its sprawling growth shades garcinia seedlings underneath. Flowers and fruit are very ornamental. Fruit are like the wax jambu, but smaller.

Comments: - I quite like the fruits of this native. A bit like a pear. Tree form is quite nice also. It hasn't reacted too well to going into the ground, but hopefully will kick along a bit over the summer when the rains come.
