Volunteer from under compost bin. This plant is attacked by three striped beetle every year, but bounces back and fruits well for long periods of the year despite this. The fruit is really nice, slightly tart. African yam (heart shaped leaves) is also a volunteer from the compost. This yam tastes nice grated and washed in lemon juice water, but oozes slime when cut, like a lamprey.

These used to grow wild on the island where I grew up, but for the life of me I can't keep them alive...either from seed or young plants. Really must look into what is going wrong.

Really looking forward to trying the fruit from this one. Growing well and I've already taken cuttings that have struck so I can have MORE lol. Watched the Daleys video on these and the flowers are very attractive.

One of my favourite fruits as a kid, it would grow wild in the park near us. I have several plants- one had two fruit but were eaten by the possum before I could enjoy them. The others seem to suffer die back on the tips somehow...

Have just planted 2 of these these facing north east and they look healthy and strong. They got overrun by killer tomatoes and I think it blocked the sun and nutrients.

Knock off any suckers. No bird problems. More moist soil than other areas. Attractive flowers. Not pruned yet. No serious bugs or disease yet.
Small amount of fruit after one year which was stewed up into a sweet topping syrup. Good purple colour and interesting flavour.
