Pitaya - Red Dragon Fruit (Cutting)

CJ's Edible Fruits
Update: 653 days 3hrs

Comments: -

Just got started on this one (red with white flesh) with a cutting from a friend. Currently its about 30cm tall. Dotted with rooting power and planted in potting mix. Will wait and see!

Also picked up a red flesh pitaya recently from Tass1. Now I need to find a spot for them!

12/06/10 - and another cutting from Tass1, this time yellow skin white flesh. Treated same as above. My other two have had lots of new growth over summer but seem to be slowing a bit now in winter.

Just wondering why you wouldn't gatrherinfo about hte location of the plant?  Mine is in Perth, but one in say QLD would have a pretty different story...

Pitaya - Red Dragon Fruit 10/10

Debra's Edible Fruits
Update: 1016 days 20hrs

Comments: -

absolutely magnificent, the flower was beautiful and, magical to watch opening, it only took a few hours to open and stayed open for about 24 hours, It took about 2 months to fruit and wasnt a disappointment, the fruit was dark dark red an really tasty , sweet but not overly, unfortunately I only had one fruit, but i am hoping for more this year, I planted it wrongly and am growing it over a pine post like my white dragon fruit, but I have recently discovered that i should have grown it like a vine across trellising. I have taken 4 cuttings which are doing well in pots at the moment and am hoping to get more this year.

My yellow dragon fruit is growing very well, and very quickly, i have yet to have flowers or fruit on it but i am hoping this season I will get some, i have it growing up a pine post and over a wooden cross at the top, i fertilize it regularly with seeweed solution, and am going to add some cow manure in the spring.
