Dragon Fruit is one my my favourite fruits to eat especailly when chilled - so ordered one from Daley's. I have potted it a huge 510mm pot ( ~50L) and drilled heaps of drainage holes, have used my standard potting mix of rich organics and slow release osmocote and planty of mulch, the DF is now shooting new growth and there are smaller buds on it!.

Next to the DF from Daley's is a Red DF purchased from eBay - when it arrived it was in a really poor condition and they didnt even root it!! anyway's it's now rooted and starting to thicken up which is good. These DF plants are in full sun and seem to love the hot Adelaide sun so i have not moved them into my semi enclosed pergola area with my other tropicals.

Cant wait till they fruit, costing me a fortune buying the fruit from coles/woolworths and the DF is small and old! ohh well haha.

Not as prolific as the dwarf apple but green leaves filling out the tree on 20 Nov 2012

Steady growth. Leaves filled out the branches. Applied blood and bones on dripping line on 1.3.13.

Taking off like the apple tree. Again, hoping for fruits in summer of 2014.

Like the apple tree, the nishi lost all its leaves in winter and is only starting to grow back now. Skinny like the apple tree tree. Am hoping it will grow more branches and leaves, maybe even a fruit or two :)

This tree is truly established. Have grown much taller with more branches and leaves. Also started flowering. Hope to eat the first fruit from this tree this year. Have consistently fertilised during winter and spring.

This is actually an old seeding tree, similar shape fruit to that of williams. Definitely a decendent of a European pear.The tree is about 6m tall and slightly infested with pear slug worm. It bears heavily, but the biggest fruits are all on the top of the tree, making it impossible to pick and the birds always get them first. I covered some fruits with newspaper on the lower branches. But very disappointing, the fruit is very very sweet, almost too stweet, and the texture is very dry and hard, not very pleasant to eat. I don't know if it has anything to do with watering because I didn't give it any water even during the harsh Adelaide summer. Anyway, I am going to cut it back to waist high in winter and multi-graft it with nashi Nijiseiki and Kosui.
