Nectarine - Flavortop (Grafted) 7/10

Edward's Edible Fruits
Update: 144 days 15hrs

Comments: - Good tasting fruit, although not much due to tree being significantly affected by leaf gall when bought from Sydney nursery. Now using spray to control this problem at time of bud burst, and it seems to be working. Almost no leaves affected by leaf gall in 2013. However, sprayed too late in 2014 and so the tree was very badly affected by leaf gall and got no fruit.

Planted: 2011

Height 2 metres

Growing: In the Ground

Qty: 1

First Fruited: 2 Years from purchase in pot

Spicezee - Nectarine x Plum 5/10

Sandy31's Edible Fruits
Update: 166 days 17hrs

Comments: -

The first NectaPlumŽ from Zaiger Genetics: a white-fleshed, nectarine-peach-plum hybrid. Skin is dark maroon at fruit set, and turns pale pink when ripe. Fully ripe fruit is unparalled in flavor, and both nectarine and plum traits are easily detectable. Very productive tree is also quite ornamental. Tremendous purplish pink bloom in the spring, followed by a flourish of red leaves which mature into lush green in late summer.

Planted as a DUO with Plum Luisa

Has already produced lovely good sized very sweet fruit.

October 2009:  Lots of growth observed.

November 2009:  Lots more leaves.

December 2009 to March 2010:  No fruit but lots more growth recorded.

L1's Edible Fruits
Update: 1274 days 11hrs

Comments: -

A beautiful tree in flower, and I would love to taste some fruit unaffected by fruit fly - maybe next year!

Developed leaf curl immediately after domancy - left it too late with the lime sulfer spray.

Fruiting Months January and December

Planted: 2011

Height 40 Centimetres

Growing: In a Pot

Fruit Harvest: 0.1 kilograms per Year

First Fruited: 6 Months from Purchase in Pot

Sun/Shade: Full Sun

Pollination: Cross Pollination

Cross Pollinator Variety: Sunset Peach

Pest Control: Should have bagged the fruit - was attacked terribly by fruit fly and slugs here in Sydney.

Home to the Wild May fruit fly trap. Attracts lots of honey bees and native sugarbag bees.  Beautiful pink spring blossom.  Fruits prolifically - I need to thin the fruit.  Although this will all be enjoyed by the stunning king parrots.  2010 I an trying mesh bags to protect the fruit from fruit fly and the birds.  Meanwhile the gorgeous King Parrots eat all the unbagged fruit - very green.

So far the mesh bags are working well, although the birds have been pecking at the plums, the nectarines are close to picking.

November 17th - I have just picked the best nectarine I have ever grown.

Fruit fly control - wild may - set trap mid August.
