Comments: - I love this tree, related to the boabs it has a fat bum and gorgeous scented flowers that open at night.. The peeled raw seeds are a little like a cross between green peas and raw cashews, they are a little fiddly to get into but make a great snack.

Guiana Chestnut (Seedling)

VF1's Edible Fruits
Update: 4293 days 11hrs

Comments: -

I haven't tried the nuts yet, but are supposed to taste like peanuts when raw, and chestnuts when fried or roasted. Sounds like a good option to try in sub-tropics where not so suitable to grow traditional type nuts. Should start bearing when a few years old.

The tree itself is attractive too, with a bulbous base (already noticeable as a young plant) similar to Qld. Bottle tree. Likes moist soil as in natural environment lives on river-banks.
