Apple - Dorsett Golden (Grafted) 10/10

Bloodanddreams 's Edible Fruits
Update: 3062 days 16hrs

Comments: - This is simply a fantastic tree. Very easy going, bearing enthusiastically even when not flowering in tandem with any of it's neighbours. Have an Anna, Tropic Sweet, Tropic Beauty, Ein Shemer, Ellisons Orange and Wild Granny (Diggers), but this tree really shines. Has had fruit for 2 seasons now, although the birds got to them the first year - they were my first ever apples and  earlier than I expected (November), but mid January in 2017. Still getting to know it, but I am a big, big fan. Gorgeous looking fruit that can be enjoyed crisp, or softer. (I gave one to my neighbour who said it was the first apple she had eaten in years due to her teeth). Would seriously recommend this to anyone with a non traditional apple climate. I am already looking forward to next year. Neighbouring trees growing, but do not flower simultaneously. Perhaps when they have a few more years on them, meanwhile I have this golden beauty.

Star Apple (Seedling) 10/10

Danny N1's Edible Fruits
Update: 3431 days 6hrs

Comments: -

Still very small but that would be my fault - i placed in full open Adelaide sun!!! which in turn burned the new leaves that had sprouted ( lesson learned!) it now lives in my semi-enclosed pergola and recovering very well.

Have it in a 430mm pot with plenty of organics and mulch and feed with a slow release osmocote fertilzer as well as fortnightly dose's of Seasol for root and foliage development. All in all very happy with this little performer - beautiful foliage, cant wait to see it develop into a larger specimen.

Rollinia - Brazilian Custard Apple (Seedling) 10/10

Danny N1's Edible Fruits
Update: 3431 days 6hrs

Comments: -

Another Plant experiment - this is strictly a Tropical Tree, but hey i have one now for the Temperate Adelaide Climate. I do have a good sized pergola with perspec's which provides filtered light and i have shade clothe'd the pergola as such creating a tropical micro climate.

The plant is in a 430mm pot so will not need to repot for another few years, plenty of organic's and mulch. The 430mm pot has been reworked to provide exceptional drainage, so far doing extremly well and loving where it is : P.

For those living in Adelaide and love the more exotic plants ( Challenge of growing them!) would love to see some comments of your endevours and or advice on growing tropical plants in our hot and dry temperate climate.

Dwarf Apple - Granny Smith (Grafted) 8/10

Loves Fruit Trees's Edible Fruits
Update: 3473 days 23hrs

Comments: -

Granny Smiths are old fashioned I know. Did you hear they are a great companion for Pink Ladies and Pinkabelle? It's true. They are crisp and tangy for fruit salads and also give a pleasing twist to a home made Vege Juice with Carrot and Celery. You can also add a little Beetroot if you like. One lady I met adds a touch of Ginger instead. I may place a recipe on my hobby-site!

Dwarf Apple - Pinkabelle PBR (Seedling) 8/10

Loves Fruit Trees's Edible Fruits
Update: 3473 days 24hrs

Comments: -

I love my Pinkabelle....she's 8 months and has a nice formation with lovely leaves (before winter) I can't wait to pick some Pink Lady apples. This is a good choice! To me, it's much better than the Ballerina Apple Trees - though some gardeners might like them - the Pinkabelle grows 2 Metre x 1 Meter. It's more of a tree - it's nice to have branches!

My sister bought a 3 Way Grafted Apple Tree with Pink Lady, Fuji and Royal Gala (they are her favorites) and while it may be interesting to go for those, I have decided to buy the dwarf varieties.....a Pink Lady (that I have with the Pinkabelle) a Granny Smith for cross-polination and possibly a Fuji soon. For sometime, I wondered why all the fuss about Fuji apples until I tried some on sale one day and suprisingly, they tasted very similar to the Pink Lady apples. They are also very juicy! So they are a good option for pollinating Pink Lady apples all you fellow fans out there!

Question:

How many fruit can we expect when tree is 3yrs....then 5-6 years?

Golden Delicious - Apple (Grafted) 10/10

Loves Fruit Trees's Edible Fruits
Update: 3473 days 24hrs

Comments: -

I love my beautiful new Golden Delicious Apple Tree - my mum's favorite apple! I found a really nice shapely one at Bunnings 2 weeks before Summer with 5 nice even branches. Everyone admired it on my way out the store. My mum is 90yrs and lives interstate with my sister now. I love to have a few fruit trees that remind me of her - makes her feel a little closer.

I have just decided to grow this one with my Pink Lady Pinkabell and I am looking for a nice Dwarf Fuji Apple Tree to pollinate both of them. Have just bought a Ninja Pro (super blender) recently and will be adding the golden delicious apples later to a few special Vege Blends I make. Voila!!!

I am waiting for Daley's Dwarf Avocado Trees to become available - not sure when. I think that avocado would be nice with golden delicious apple and celery as a loose salad snack!

Steady growth. Leaves filled out the branches. Applied blood and bones on dripping line on 1.3.13.

A year after planting, the tree is branching out. No fruits yet but looking forward to next year.
NickL1 says... [3922 days 17hrs ago]
Little to report on this tree. The leaves were gone during winter and now (Oct 14) regrowing. The tree is almost two years old but still skinny as. Is this normal? Would like to see more branches extending.
NickL1 says... [3565 days 14hrs ago]
This tree is truly established. Have grown much taller with more branches and leaves. Also started flowering. Hope to eat the first fruit from this tree this year. Have consistently fertilised during winter and spring.
