Fry is the most popular muscadine grape cultivar. It is female and produces a very large, bronze grape. Yield, vigor and disease resistance are moderate. The period from first ripening to last ripening can extend to 6 weeks. Hardy selection of muscadine grape suited to the subtropics and coastal climates. University of Arkansas release (1987), produces large, crisp berries on medium-large conical clusters. The berries are bright red with adherent skins and a mild flavor. Vines are precocious and moderately hardy. Saturn has good storage potential and may be processed into an acceptable blending wine. The world's largest seedless black grape variety to be known as Black Opal seedless is reported to have been developed by the Division of Horticultural Research of CSIRO, Australia. This new variety produces berries of 21.5 mm diameter with pleasant sweet taste. This variety has shown resistance to Downy Mildew. Black Opal Seedless is a cross between California Black Rose and Ruby Seedless. It can be dried into an attractive raisin.

Crimson seedless grapes have elongated pinkish-red fruits with crisp firm skin and juicy pulp. The flavour is sweetly-tart and almost spicy.
