Unfortunatley I don't know what type this is but it grows well in a sheltered posiiton. Is easily damaged by wind in August September. It took about three years to start fruiting but now we get about a bucket full of nuts each year and it is largley left to fend for itself. No extra watering and only fertilised by

Delicious nut that is native to area where I live.  This is the prickly-leaf form. Nuts are sweeter raw but are not as good to roast as the smoother leaf form. Food source for Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos.  Attractive and hardy tree.

Macadamia G6 (Cutting)

Markmelb's Edible Fruits
Update: 2330 days 7hrs

Comments: -

This is the so called Home Beauty G6 Macadamia

Planted Cutting which I think may be a Birdwood plant? Has kicked on well with several flushes already

2nd year in it has stopped growing height but is thickening up and growing branches - leave down low are quite long and some grow weird and twisted but leaves are getting smaller towards the apex - anyone know what causes gnarly twisted leaves? could it be bugs munching new growth as leaves form?

Worked out twisted leaves are due to cold but has acclimatised now and is holding 20 nuts March 2019 photo - tree seems to have topped out at 4.5 to 5mt which it is supposed to.do? Lets see? 2020 should be a way bigger crop?

Planted: 2013

Pollination: Cross Pollination

Question:

Anybody know what causes  Macca leaves to grow twisted and Gnarley looking??

Jan28 2016 pic growing well but stil twisty leaves - getting shorter leaves as it matures

Bizibee's Edible Fruits

I planted 3 years ago in the front yard which is west facing getting full sun. It's doing very well.  It has survived 2 wet cold winters.  It has not produced any nuts yet, it's still very young.  I give it seasol twice a year, spinkle cow manure once a year and have also spinkled some slow release fertilizer.
