Wampee - Yeem Pay 10/10Kenlovell1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 1704 days 11hrs Comments: - A very handsome tree that is now growing quite quickly after a slow start. It had its first fruit last year - a small crop but delicious if left until very ripe. The fruit fly left them alone too, which was a pleasant surprise. The tree currently has a lot of early flower shoots and I'm looking forward to a good crop this year. Wampee (Seedling)Paulaf1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 3850 days 20hrs Comments: - This was a seedling tree, so grew very quickly. It made a lovely shade tree.......but I found the fruit too "musky" for my taste, so ended up chopping it down. Wampee - Guy Sam (Grafted) 7/10GardenOfColumba's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4141 days 6hrs Comments: - I appreciate the grapefruit flavour without the bitterness and sourness. And I find the grape-like clusters of fruit very appealing. It has grown very well in a sunny spot after one year, at almost the same rate as my Eureka lemon. In my previous garden I put the same variety in a shaded spot and it was very slow growing- until it reached the sun. Height 0.7 metres Qty: 1 Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Winter Fertiliser or Organics Used: Occasional organic liquid fertiliser Question: I tried an elongated Wampi at Tropical Fruit World, and am wondering now if I should have planted a Yeem Pay variety. Anyone compared that with the Guy Sam? Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report 4 of 9 people found this review useful* You need your own My Edibles Page to contribute Quick & Easy |

Wampee - Yeem Pay (Grafted)VF1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4386 days 13hrs Comments: - I read somewhere that the fruit tastes like a sweet grapefruit but without the bitterness - if this is true, I'll enjoy it. Grows to be a small tree with fruit clusters similar to Lychee and Longan. Already appears quite attractive. Related to citrus, so treat the same. Planted early Feb. and rewarded me with almost instant growth. Height 65 Centimetres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Summer Pollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: Citrus feed and seasol When I Fertilise: Yearly Pest Control: Nil needed yet. WampeeDiana's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4474 days 5hrs Comments: - I really like the taste of the fruit from the one at Northy Street city farm, citrus but a bit like custard. Wampee - Yeem Pay (Grafted) 9/10Simon1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4586 days 8hrs Comments: - Initially I grew this on a trellis espalier style. Not suitable, I didn't get it to grow branches where I wanted them. I have since moved the plant 2 more times and it has survived. My chickens love to dig up the roots yet this plant has not died. This is very hardy. Flowering and setting fruit in its third year.

Wampee (Seedling)Lissa's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4794 days 17hrs Comments: - Ate some fruit years ago at the markets and loved it. Have grown at a previous property but left before the trees grew any crop. Didn't realise at the time they are related to citrus, thought they were more like a lychee. Great problem with the flying foxes stealing my entire crop. Planted: 2007 Height 3.5 metres First Fruited: 2 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Winter After FruitingPollination: Self Pollination When I Fertilise: When Fruiting and Spring Pest Control: Flying foxes!! Wampee (Cutting) 8/10Emma1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4992 days 8hrs Comments: - Never tried fruit but review of the fruit in Subtropical Gardening Magazine sounded promising. Since planting in the ground in March 2010 growth has been rapid and dense, the folliage alone is quite attractive. By ground I mean sugarcane mulch and a handfull of coir peat as my whole garden is no-dig, no soil.
