Red Shahtoot arrived in Southwest WA with badly burnt leaf tips, possibly from the fumigation treatments for customs processes. Within three weeks of transplanting into a pot it has flourished and sprouted clusters of leaves with fruit growing quickly. The plant arrived safely, though i accidentally cut away one of very few leaves while opening the box with serrated knife. It is planted in a pot, looks moderately happy, protected from strong westerly winds by plastic sleeve over 2 sticks. Added coconut fibre to the potting mix for extra water retention. Leaves have a hint of yellow, have to work out what is best to fertilise it, so far limited info on this. The tumeric was yellowed and a bit wilted. I was concerned initially but it is settling, has sent up a new shoot and entering it's winter cycle. My order was some exclusion bags but it took ages to be processed by you. Sent in a box that would normally contain a plant which was very strange. Maybe you could separate the plant orders frim other items and expidite the tools, nets etc so they can be delivered fairly quickly. Strawberry plant arrived, with some burnt leaves right at the top. I kept all of the plants I ordered inside for a few day, due to heat. after a few days, I took them outside and put them in a large container with water in the bottom. I then covered this with shade cloth and carefully put them out, not in direct sunlight, but the morning sun, then covered them up, trying to get a bit more sun now and again. The quality of the trees was poor: they were all double or triple forked, but this is not an issue as they will be all pruned back this spring and re-grown from below the forks (which is well above the graft). The health of the trees was excellent and they are all growing well. The posting of the trees was well done, they arrived well watered and not damaged. I had one DOA and 3 weak out of 2 large orders. 2 of the weak ones have recovered (one is still in question) and are thriving.
