My Edible Fruit Trees: Custard Apple Trees WA
Dwarf Custard Apple - Tropic Sun (Grafted) 8/10Amanda's Edible FruitsUpdate: 1951 days 7hrs Comments: - This is our very first fruit, but the tree has been flowering for the past 2yrs. Seems to have some trouble self pollinating so I may have to assist next time. It's almost totally deciduous in our winter here. It's growing strongly and is in a large raised bed facing north - in our pool area which has a 6ft brick wall around it - so a nice microclimate in winter and summer. Planted: 2014 First Fruited: 4 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Pollination: Hand Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: Balanced Acid lovers alternating with slow release organic chook manure pellets, little and often during the growing season. Sulphur in early spring if needed. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report 7 of 20 people found this review useful* You need your own My Edibles Page to contribute Quick & Easy |

Custard Apple - Seedling 10/10PhilippafromDerbyWA1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4759 days 11hrs Comments: - These trees have self seeded everywhere however when they fruit they produce the most delicious sweet soft moist unbelievable fruit. They do have a lot of seeds but are totally worth it anyway the seeds are slim and smooth and slip down easily. I just let the seedlings grow up as I can t bear to pull em up at this point. Custard Apple - African Pride (Grafted) 8/10Amanda19's Edible FruitsUpdate: 4945 days 12hrs Comments: - I have two atemoyas - an african pride and hilary white. They have been recalcitrant plants to get established! I don't think the wind has helped though. I am waiting for the tap root to establish more strongly. They also suffer burnt leaf magins. The A.pride has decided to flower this week...(it's July). I had 4 fruit off the A.pride this season and they were lovely. It was too soon to let it fruit - but I was greedy! They pollinated on their own. My pruning job not too good on these guys. Floweredall winter long (2009) and set no fruit by spring when flowers finished. Nov 2010: Flowering madly. I put an extra microsprayer on it and the extra water has really helped it along. Fruiting Months February Planted: 2007 Height 1.5 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 2 First Fruited: 2 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Spring After FruitingPollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: Man Was this review helpful?
