Comments: - The fruit is rather small but the seeds are also small. Good taste. Have moved the tree to Katoomba where it continued to grow well and produced very tasty fruit. Coddling moth was a serious problem in Sydney but have not had this issue in Katoomba so far. The tree is now doing very well, no transplant shock, and has produced good fruit.

Just a baby right now, my neighbours have huge trees that you can not reach the fruit so I know they grow well here.

Has been growing well through autumn, trunk has thickened up nicley, seems to grow very fast. They are a great looking tree too.

Grew from seed I got from a tree at the local park. Planted in a recycling bin, took off, fruiting in just over two years from seed!!! tough bugger, had three seasons of delicious fruit with it, but I had to lop it when we renovated the house. Height at death (5yo) approx 3-3.5 metres.

Sept 2013: Tree has taken off, growing through winter. Had a branch full of flowers, took all but 5 off to see what the fruit are like. Taste great; juicy, sweet, nice texture when bright yellow.

I am not sure what variety loquat I have as it was a gift but I don't think it's grafted. It is probably one of the most vigorous trees in my garden. I have alwasys kept him in a big concrete pot to try and limit him size but I don't think he listens to me. It didn't fit in the pantec when we moved and I had to cut the crown out (and even then he had to bend over to fit). He didn't mind though and has gone crazy since.

He will be 4 next year so I am hoping to get my first crop! I have noticed a few of these trees around Newcastle and they all seem to being growing well.

He is VERY thirsty. New leaves and branches get droopy in dry weather. A good water and there is no permanent damage. I grow native violets in the pot as an early water indicater - if the violets droop it's time for a drink!

Winter 2011: I have my first flowers! Fingers crossed that I will get fruit soon! I took the pic a bit late so the flowers have gone skanky but they are still flowers!

slaters = the pot got a bit of a slater infestation and they started eating the leaves. I filled the pot up with water til it was overflowing which triggered a slater exodus and then got rid og them by hand (well foot actually).
