Mandarin (Grafted) 9/10![]() Update: 2782 days 8hrs Comments: - It gives tasty fruit in winter and looks good, I am not sure of the variety, grandma planted it in 1987, it gets runoff from the roof which no doubt helps it thrive. Interestingly this tree has a raised bed covering the graft, roots are growing from above the graft. I wonder if this increases the size and salinity tolerance of this tree. Fruiting Months June, July, August, September Planted: 1987 Height 4 metres Growing: In the Ground Sun/Shade: Medium Sun Pruned By: 30% in Pest Control: I suck up the stink bugs with the vac. Mandarins 9/10Pottsy's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5517 days 12hrs Comments: - Apart from 2010 it has always produced a great crop and one year even 'hid' the passionfruit vine from us as the vine grew over the canopy. We found we had passionfruits when our King Charles Cavalier brought them to us after they dropped. Planted: 2003 Water Given in: Spring Question: Mandarins are usually this year they are tiny - about one fifth of normal size but still nice and sweet to eat!! Why would they be so tiny? Dwarf Mandarin 10/10![]() Update: 5510 days 18hrs Comments: - I only purchased my mandarine tree from Daleys a year ago. I wasnt very confident when it arrived as it was in a little box. It has grown incredibly fast, looks magnificent and we have even had a lovely mandarin which is sweet and delicious. Fruiting Months August Planted: 2009 Height 1.5 metres Growing: In a Pot Qty: 1 Fruit Harvest: 2 Fruit Per Year First Fruited: 1 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Medium Sun Water Given in: Winter Pruned By: 10% in Pollination: No Fertiliser or Organics Used: white oil, snail bait When I Fertilise: Yearly Organic Status:Pesticides Used Question: What can i do to stop the leaves curling and dropping like the other citrus trees I have in the garden? I really dont want to use pesticides but I think we have a few problems: somethings eating the leaves; and something is causing the leaves to curl and drop off. Was this review helpful? Dwarf Mandarin - Emperor 10/10![]() Update: 4088 days 8hrs Comments: - This has been the best tree in my potted fruit collection. It is now a healthy bushy small tree covered with fruit. Last year it had about 15 manderines reached maturity. The tree was covered in flowers in winter and after the huge ripe ornage coloured fruit from the season before were picked (June). This tree gets the same treatment as my other citris but it is the best. It is in a 60cm terracotta pot. Winter 2011- produces a very heavy crop but afterward slooked very tiered. I tip prunes and ferilised with Blood and bone. It has recovered and looks very healthy again but didn't flower. I think its taking a rest. I used some of the last fruit and made marmalade with the last of the passonfruit.
