Grows vigorously and has many flowers each year, but has not set a single fruit for over 5 years in spite of attempts at manual pollination and cross pollination with granadilla x lilikoi variety. Therefore have removed the plant.

var. Golden Honey.  Prolific bearer of heavenly yellow fruit.  This plant lived till last year, 2017. Last year before it died from senescence it put out a bumper crop (at the age of 14 - 15)  Can no longer find this variety. The sweetest passionfruit I have ever tasted.  The Sweet Granadilla just doesn't compare. I had no insect problems, no diseases. Was planted with morning and midday sun against the house where it was protected from frost and had water runoff whenever it rained. Its roots were under the concrete driveway where it stayed warm and moist. Wish I could get another one.

Passionfruit - Nellie Kelly (Grafted) 9/10

Pademelon1's Edible Fruits
Update: 2963 days 21hrs

Comments: - Grown a couple of these plants, often with a couple of fruiting seasons, but eventually they become daggy, so I remove them, but the rootstock is difficult to remove. Can be really prolific or not at all depending on amount of light and water. I Had one really prolific one a while back, for maybe 4-5 years, in which time it easily produced over 1000 fruit. it was on a sandstone wall in direct sun, occupying a space of approx 6x4m squared. Fruits taste great as well.

Passionfruit - Select Black

Kath's Edible Fruits
Update: 3208 days 14hrs

Comments: -

It is hard to go past a black passionfruit in terms of flavour and fullness of fruit.  I need to construct a trellis for the vine though.  I do have seedling black passionfruit growing wild in the bush but I have not seen them fruit - this may be because they don't get enough sun.

Msjekyll's Edible Fruits
Update: 3281 days 6hrs

Comments: -

Growing strongly now established.  No fruit yet.

Only a few flowers this year and no fruit - wondering if possums or the like have stolen the flowers.

Loved the wet 2012 flowered a bit but still only one fruit ...

Well the storm in April 2015 took out the Jacarranda tree it grew up and that was the end of the passionfruit vines.  Grew huge, hardly fruited!

Growing: In the Ground

Pollination: No

Pest Control:

Will probably have to fight the possums for a share!

Passionfruit - Nellie Kelly (Grafted) 7/10

Waterfall's Edible Fruits
Update: 3496 days 23hrs

Comments: -

So this is a Nellie Kelly grafted black passionfruit. It has grown very well and started flowering in just 6 months as we head into winter, no fruit set yet.

If I had my time again I would purchase the non-grafted version of this, I have had to remove 3 random suckers which have popped up about 1m away from the vine so far. No suckers have grown below the graft since the first 2 weeks after planting.

Waterfall's Edible Fruits
Update: 3497 days 16hrs

Very fast growing, I have bolted some 100mm square mesh to the back fence as a trelis. I grew it to the top and then cut the top off which forced laterals to grow and now I am training the laterals along the trelis.

Started fruiting at 12 months old in late summer. Loaded with fruit now, they will be ripening over winter.

Had to net it from birds and possums once it started flowering, they eat the flowers.

Passionfruit - \"Nelly Kelly\" (Grafted) 9/10

Nathan1's Edible Fruits
Update: 3733 days 0hrs

Comments: - EDIT 2013  Was going fantastically, but neighbou're mother decided it had to die...  Was a good variety, well worth growing, great tasting

Going great, reasonable amount of fruit on right now, waiting for them to ripen.

Am also getting the neighbours into the swing of things by training it over to thier side as well to share it, and once they see how much fun that is, will be adding more berries etc to fence. This will also give it more afternoon sun.

Had an initial problem of rootstock going rampant over it, but that was just laziness. Have since taken several bits of rootstock with roots and potted them up, and am about to graft some upper scions of this onto them.

CoolClimate1's Edible Fruits
Update: 3864 days 22hrs

Comments: -

Grew this from seed as a cool climate alternative to black passionfruit. It has grown so well, easy to germinate and is growing strongly since I put it in the ground. I'll update when it fruits.

Grew very vigorously, but still hadn't fruited when we moved in Dec 2013. Will be planting another one at the new house though, as it grew so well.
