Loquat - Champagne (Grafted) 10/10![]() Update: 4887 days 19hrs Comments: - I've heard good things about this variety and it is slightly different to the 4 others most easily available. It has just gone in the ground, but it is a beautiful little tree! ------- 2011 - Had a large crop of fruit (around 200) in its first year in ground. Taste is fantastic - a cross between pear and peach with a little tang. Must bag from fruit fly. This is a vigorous grower, but quite dense compared to other loquats. Fruiting Months September and October Planted: 2010 Height 1.6 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 Fruit Harvest: 5 kilograms per Year First Fruited: 1 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Medium Sun Pruned By: 10% in After Fruiting Pollination: Self Pollination When I Fertilise: Winter and Spring Pest Control: Bag for fruit fly Was this review helpful? I like my Nagasakiwase but had a few other varieties including Champagne that I'd Iike to taste/grow.BJ says... [4602 days 1hrs ago] The only person i know who still stockes them is Bob McGuffin. He usually has a stall at Chandler markets? and the bogi fair, which is coming up next weekend at Albion.* You need your own My Edibles Page to contribute Quick & Easy ![]() |

Loquat - Nagasakiwase 7/10![]() Update: 4202 days 23hrs Comments: - A good loquat beats supermarket apricots. Hardy, productive. First season's fruit have been superb. Second season fruits ripened very early due to an unusually warm winter, and were very sweet but not as flavoursome. Will consider thinning fruit for a better harvest next year. Fruiting Months August Planted: 2011 Height 1 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 First Fruited: 1 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Medium Sun Water Given in: Winter Pollination: No Pest Control: Cloth bags, so I have perfect fruit. Loquat - Nagasakiwase (Seedling) 10/10![]() Update: 5382 days 2hrs Comments: - Abundant sweet yellow fruits year round here in the tropics of Central Qld. Our family of 6 all try to beat each other to pick these little treats! The tree is about 8 years old and has been fruiting well for the past 3 years. Low maintenence, just an occasional prune every couple of years to keep the tree compact and the fruits easy to reach. Fruiting Months January, February, March, April, May, June, August, September, October, November, December Planted: 2003 Height 3 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 Fruit Harvest: 200 Fruit Per Year First Fruited: 5 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Medium Sun Water Given in: Winter Pruned By: 20% in After Fruiting Pollination: No When I Fertilise: Never Pest Control: No sprays needed. Very little issue with pests, though occasionally the ants get in if the fruits are left to get over-ripe on the tree. Was this review helpful?
